Expressive, bright wine of bright ruby color. The aroma reveals notes of cherries, blackberry jam, prunes, undergrowth and black pepper. Full-bodied, balanced in taste, with velvety tannins, lively acidity, floral and spicy tones in a long aftertaste.
Pairs well with BBQ, stews, and aged cheeses.
Fermentation lasts 13 days in stainless steel tanks․ Immediately after alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation follows.
2 years in barrels, about 3 months in bottles.
The vineyards of Castello di Nipozzano are located at an altitude of 250 to 500 meters above sea level and occupy 250 hectares of south-eastern exposure. The soils are dry, stony, clay-limestone, well-drained.
